WAHPERD Advocacy Goals for 2008-2009

1. Increase Membership Targets: Including college students, AAHPERD members, former members, Jump and Hoops Coordinators, etc.
2. Increase Attendance at WAHPERD Convention
3. Promote Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart
4. Train WAHPERD members to lobby locally
5. Adopt NASPE and AAHE Standards
6. Participate in the School Board convention either with a presentation or booth
7. Advertise local listening sessions
8. Write letters to editors
9. Advocacy Corner for Newsletter
10. Assist and encourage people to contact their state legislators (http://waml.legis.state.wi.us/)
11. Add a DPI Link
12. Add a two-for-one option for seniors and a 2-year membership discount
13. Add a special page to encourage Administrators to come with members (Joanne’s Advocacy Corner)
