The WAHPERD Student Scholarship Award

Congratulations to the 2008 Scholarship Recipients: Jeremy Clements (UW-Eau Claire), Eric Czechanski (UW-Oshkosh), Frank Fiordellisi (UW-La Crosse) and Lucas Rank (UW-La Crosse).

Criteria for Eligibility:

1. Full time students, who attend a 4-year college, are eligible for this award after they have completed at least 2 years of study.
2. Students must have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.00.
3. Students must have belonged to WAHPERD member for one year and attended one WAHPERD convention.
4. Students must be majoring in physical education, health education, exercise fitness, recreation, athletic training, sports management, or dance.
5. Students must be professionally involved and show evidence of leadership responsibility.
6. Students must include two letters of recommendation.
7. Students may be awarded the scholarship a maximum of two times.
8. Length of WAHPERD membership, extent of WAHPERD involvement, and overall GPA will be strongly considered in awarding the scholarships.
9. Deadline for application is April 1st.

Four scholarships will be awarded in 2009: $1000 per year. The four winners will be recognized at the WAHPERD Convention.
